I don’t know how the golf clubs ended up in my locker.

I belong to a country club. I joined the club so I would be able to take advantage of the golf courses that the club has to offer. Yesterday, I stopped at the club after work. I went into the locker room so I could change into my golfing attire. When I opened my locker, there was a brand new set of golf clubs in it. I didn’t know how they got in there. I declined the family membership because my wife said she would never go to the club. I am the only person that knows the combination to my locker. I took the clubs to the office and attempted to turn them in. I explained that they were not mine, but somehow they ended up in my locker. The receptionist explained that my wife had dropped them off and asked that they be placed in my locker as a surprise. I couldn’t figure out why she would buy me a new set of golf clubs. Then I realized it was our anniversary. I put the clubs back in my locker and decided against golfing. I went to the jewelry store and bought my wife a beautiful necklace instead.
